The Ultimate Mother's Day Gift
Updated: Jan 6, 2019
Mother's day is right around the corner and hopefully most of us have started to think about gifts for the women that gave us life. Instead of giving the traditional bouquet of flowers or perfume, why not give them a gift they will really remember.
Non-invasive cosmetic treatments have the power make a person look and feel refreshed, rejuvenated and renewed. When done correctly and by an expert, they can also be subtle and age-appropriate. Treatments deliver fast results, are over in minutes and are virtually painless.
This week's blog reveals the many ways we can give our mother the Ultimate Mother's Day Gift.
1. The Gift of Glowing Skin: This has been a particularly harsh winter. Icy blasts strip moisture from our skin. Going in and out of heated rooms and hot showers exacerbate its dryness. Over time our skin loses its natural protective oils and begins to feel tight, itchy and sore. The build of up dead skin cells and a lack of sunshine leaves the skin looking dull and tired.
We developed a bespoke medical-grade eight stage facial to combat the effects of winter on our skin and give us the glow we all want.
A gentle cleanse using aloe vera, Japanese green tea and chamomile removes dirt and surface impurities
A tumeric, dandelion and ginger scrub exfoliates dead skin cells
A natural fruit acid brightens skin tone and reduces the appearance of fine lines
A pink french clay mask draws out deeper impurities while rosemary oil hydrates
Botanical antioxidants and vitamins lock-in moisture
Algae extract and peptides boost collagen and support tired eyes
Cocoa butter and ginger plump and rehydrate dry lips
A Gentle ultrasound penetrates deep into the skin to stimulate rejuvenation from within.
At £99 this ultimate winter facial is guaranteed to leave your mother feeling pampered and glowing.
2. The Gift of Rested Eyes: Our eyes often show up the ageing process the earliest, as skin around the orbit is the thinnest in the body. Loss of collagen and elastin is most apparent making wrinkles very common. As we age, the fat pad that fills the orbit is absorbed by the body giving us sunken eyes. But we can get back our beautiful eyes with a little help from friends.
Tear Trough Filler: Hyaluronic acid based fillers strategically placed around the lower aspect of the eye can compensate for the fat and bone loss. This reduces the appearance of sunken eyes and eye bags. The effects are immediate and transforming, easily wiping away years from a face.
Botox: Upper face wrinkles are caused by the repeated contraction of muscles. This combined with thinning skin and loss of collagen leads to the appearance of fine lines on movement and then deep permanent lines. Small doses of Botox can remove these wrinkles and prevent deeply-etched lines. It can even lift eyebrows and open the eyes. This takes roughly two to twelve days to kick in, lasts for four to six months and is well worth it.
We offer packages for eye rejuvenation starting from £160 to £ 375 and they can be tailored to individual needs.
3. The Gift of Youthful Contours: The youthful face has several fat pads and a thick strong underlying skull. This gives structure and plump features such as naturally contoured cheeks. As we age, the fat and underlying bone is absorbed and displaced resulting in a gradual downward slide of the facial features. This is the cause of nasolabial (smile) folds and Marionette lines.
Hyaluronic acid fillers injected deeply in and around the cheek and mid-face replenish the fat pad and underlying bone. This lifts the face... and your mood simultaneously. Again the effects are almost immediate and there are few side effects. In this picture, note the downward pull on her facial features before her treatment and the lifting effect after. Vouchers for this treatment start at £325.
4. The Gift of a Happy Smile: Marionette lines, a down-turned mouth, smokers lines, thinning lips? All of these are the unfortunate tell-tale signs of ageing and it can even make the happiest mum look angry or sad. The lower third of the face falls victim to all the volume loss in both fat and bone that occurs higher up. It is where gravity has its greatest effect. There are also several strong muscle groups acting in and around the mouth, which over time pull the mouth inferiorly and contribute to unsightly lines. Luckily, we have options.
Botox: Smokers lines are caused by repeated contraction of the same muscle used to suck on a straw and whistle. These wrinkles are worsened by the lost of collagen and thinning of skin in the premolar area. Small doses of Botox to this muscle can relax these lines.
Over time the pull of our "frown" muscle can leave us with a permanent frown or a downturned mouth. Botox comes to the rescue again, relaxing this muscle and helping to give us our smile back.
Lip augmentation: Well placed hyaluronic acid filler to the oral commissure and lip body combats the effect of gravity. This can also lift downturned mouth corners, but is best when combined with Botox to the DAO muscle two week prior. Our Happy Smile packages start at £160.
